?Reality Check: What?s Driving Healthcare Costs and How It Affects Your Business?
Presented By: Joanne Forbes, FLMI, MBA, serves as one of the lead consultants for consultants for Hill, Chesson & Woody Employee Benefit Services. Joanne is a well-respected veteran with over 25 years of experience in the fields of employee benefits, business development and business consulting. In her current role with HCW, Joanne uses her vast industry knowledge and skills to help client employers take a strategic approach to their benefit programs and, in the process, enhancing their recruitment and retention efforts.
Joanne is also considered a leader in the local benefits community, and currently serves as board advisor and past president of the Triangle Society for Human Resource Management (TSHRM), as well as a State Council executive board member for NCSHRM.
Joanne joined HCW in 2006 after serving for five years as General Manager of GBS Administrators, a regional office of Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc., in Bellevue, WA. Prior to her term at GBS, she was an integral part of the stop loss group of SAFECO Life Insurance Company in Redmond, WA, for 15 years in various leadership roles. Joanne holds an MBA from Seattle Pacific University (WA) and a BA from Allegheny College (PA). She currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC.
Description: This program focuses on understanding the market effect on healthcare costs and how these impact the actual claims costs paid by employers. The presentation examines the components of healthcare trend and includes a discussion of healthcare pricing and carrier and independent network price negotiations. It also includes a review of underfunding of public assistance programs and the impact of uninsured populations in the context of their impact on employer based private insurance. The presentation also examines the near? and long?term impact of healthcare reform on trend and some unique strategic initiatives employers are using to impact the effect on their businesses.
This program is approved for 1.0 HRCI General credit.
This meeting is open to all Human Resources Professionals, Business Professionals, Business Students, and/or anyone with an interest in Human Resources.
